You won’t find the smell of pine needles here. Despite its name, La Sapinière (the fir wood) is surrounded by redwoods. The garden boasts two-hundred-year-old sequoias in an especially pastoral setting.
It is located in the hills of Flanders, in the immediate vicinity of two Benedictine abbeys belonging to the neighbouring village. Once inside La Sapinière, pleasure takes over. It has spacious rooms, some of which are in small chalets with views of the Mont Cassel. The restaurant specialises in local produce, which will delight lovers of terroir.
